Sintering – Mechanisms of Conventional Nanodensification and Field Assisted Processors

Castro and van Benthem co-editors of new book

UC Davis professors Ricardo Castro and Klaus van Benthem recently co-edited the book “Sintering – Mechanisms of Conventional Nanodensification and Field Assisted Processors.” The text was designed to be a teaching and consulting text summarizing the current state of knowledge in sintering with a special emphasis on electric field densification techniques and mechanisms. The collection of chapters authored by the leaders in this field serves as a compendium for researchers and institutional users.

Faculty in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Matarials Science at UC Davis, Castro and van Benthem have complementary research interests for better editing of the book. Professor Ricardo Castro’s research includes efforts on thermochemistry of interfaces and nanosintering. Professor Klaus van Benthem is interested in the investigation of the functionalities of novel nano-materials; he is also interested in developing new strategies to investigate materials under realistic environmental conditions.
