D'Souza Receives Keck Futures Initiative Grant
Raissa D’Souza, an associate professor of mechanical and aeronautical engineering, is among 80 scientists on 23 research teams nationwide awarded Keck Futures Initiative grants from the National Academies.
The Other Bicycle Research
Davis is reputed to be the "Bicycling Capital of the United States." It's easy to see why when you wander through our streets crisscrossed by an extensive network of on- and off-road bike lanes teeming with thousands of bicyclists. The Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Department has a long history of incorporating bicycles into our research and the teaching curriculum.

Winner of 2009 N&M Sarigul-Klijn Space Engineering/Flight Research Award is Christopher Davis, Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Gradate Student. His proposal is for "High Performance Space Grade Cryo-Coolers Research".

To the majority of the students on the Davis campus, cycling is quick form of transportation to class, or around town. After completing his undergraduate and graduate education at UC Davis, cycling has become more than that for Daniel Stuart, it's a way of life.
SWE Accepting Scholarship Applications
The Society for Women Engineers is accepting scholarship applications for the 2009-2010 academic year. Rosa Serrano, a UC Davis student, won one of the scholarships for the 2008-2009 year.
